Yeah. It’s snowing…

So last night, in a fit of anger, I tore a part of my car. A few months back Seabiscuit the world’s biggest racoon stole a peice of my bumber when he decided to run in front of my car. Well recently some parts that the bastard knocked loose have been making noise. Well in a head throbbing rage I kicked the lose part and ripped a whole section out. Moments after in Post Rage Depression I got worried that I may need that part. Well you will be happy to know that after much research I have discoverd the part to be the “air resonator”, which quiets your car, by removing it not only have I made my car sound like those shitty Honda Civics driven by dudes with sideways visors and goatees, but I’ve also raised my horsepower …
So cheers to my rage.

Weekend Wrapup

Buske enjoying some Eggs Scoville in Albany, NY

This past weekend I meet THE PROMISE in Albany to ride with them for their weekend of shows…
Albany
cold as fuck, apparently it had snowed there earliar that day. When I got to the show there were like 200 (of the worst) kids in line ahead of me. I waited for like 5 minutes until I heard The Promise actually playing. Darted the line and made my way past all the shitty Zao fans to make my way up front to enjoy the set…
I can honestly say, religious bias aside, Zao is fucking awful, and as bad as they are, Misery Signals is worse…
Every Time I Die headlined, and I actually didn’t watch, I spent there set in Julie/Buske’s new SUV thingy shooting the shit with Anderson, Buske, and Lynn. We packed up and said our goodbyes to Andy Williams (Solid dude, who I never get to spend enough time with) and company…
We went to some place called the ’76 Diner for some after show eats. Good coffee. Jim Winters and I ate some questioable stuff…
The next morning we went over to Mike’s (aka Scoves) place and had some breakfast and watched a some old Earth Crisis videos with Jim Winters playing guitar…we laughed.
Hartford
CT fucking sucks. With Honor is fucking amazing, as people, and as a band. I love watching them…kids go off. I quoting Buske’s Journal here-
“The crowds there have always just seemed to care more about moshing than anything else, and that night proved the same. At one point in the evening, I was doing our merch during With Honor’s set and this goofball kept walking back and forth, across the pit, in the very back shrugging his shoulders and head. The song ends and he walks up to a fellow goofball in disdain because everyone was up front singing along and there was “no one in the back to hit”. It’s lines like that that make me second guess why I still try and believe in this shit sometimes.”
Add that to Anderson and I being witness to a crowd of kids calling some dude a “nigger” and then looking for rocks to throw at his car, and some jockish motherfuckers kicking kids in the face, and we were all glad to get the fuck outta there…
Syracuse
We had to get up early to get on the road since we had at load in time of 1, Buske and I where up late giggling like schoolgirls, it was hard to get up. We got Syracuse and stopped in to DJ’s to wish Elijah a happy 3rd birthday, the little king wasn’t there, but it was awesome to see DJ, Sue, Gabby, McKaig, and Kitzel. We had some much needed coffee and then were off to the show. Syracuse is home to so many good people, I never get to spend enough time there… Nichole, Heck, Yumiko, Sarah, Brendon, JD got to hang for a bit with all of them. Watched VERSE fucking kill it, so good. WITH HONOR was again on it. It’s obvious that THE PROMISE calls Syracuse home, people went off. BANE was good as always, weird seeing them without Zac, who couldn’t make it for personal reasons. Got to spend some much missed time with Bedard and Dalbec. Fuck I miss those dudes…
Back to Albany were Buske and I decided to stay one more night at D•BO new place. We woke up and got some coffee, and said our goodbyes and headed back to NYC and Boston. I got a $190 speeding ticket, he got to see a wreck with dead people…Buske wins that one.

A New Species

“It is the foundation of our religion, our ethics and even our science that humanity has been isolated, is a single species, and has been for a very long time. This find challenges that. It is a remarkable fact that it is only at this moment, in 7m years, that there is only one species of human on the planet.”
Bert Roberts, the University of Wollongong in New South Wales

Australian and Indonesian scientists have identified a new and completely unexpected species of human. It was only a metre high, had a small brain but a distinctly human face. It made delicate stone tools and it shared the planet with Homo sapiens at least 18,000 years ago.
