Study: Prayer doesn’t affect heart patients

NEW YORK (AP) — In the largest study of its kind, researchers found that having people pray for heart bypass surgery patients had no effect on their recovery. In fact, patients who knew they were being prayed for had a slightly higher rate of complications.

  1. Jeff, haven’t you seen the bumper sticker that reads “Prayer Changes Things”? Why would a sticker lie? This article is obviously an attempt by the liberal media to bring down Christianity in all its forms. I, for one, will be praying for you. God Bless.

  2. i don’t like that they mention the fact that the people who get prayed for actually suffered complications because it implies in a backhanded sort of way that there is an impact, when, in reality, everyone knows that all people who ‘pray’ or ‘receive prayers’ eat at least 2 meals a day at mcdonalds or sonic.

  3. if you can affect someone’s health beneficially by praying for them, should not you be able to also cause it to deteriorate? i ask because it doesn’t seem to be working.

    i just peeped ‘country boys’; my favorite line was:
    ‘praise be to god. this song is called ‘death’.’
