iPhone

“As regards cell phones, we don’t think that the phones that are available today make the best music players. We think the iPod is. But over time, that is likely to change. And we’re not sitting around doing nothing.”
– Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer

intel imac

So I finally broke down and got the 20″ Intel iMac. This thing is fucking sick. So much faster then my G4 eMac I really can’t even believe it. I’ve been dealing with USB 1.1 and trying to fill a 60gb iPod with that takes forefuckingever, so being able to sit down and dump 15,000 songs on my pizzle in a sitting is a treat. So far no problems with universal vs powerpc applications.

Boot Camp

Dual Boot So I get a text message at like 10:36 this morning proclaiming that “Boot Camp will be huge” and me having no idea what that meant, proceded to get ready and went to work only to find out…sweet fancy moses Apple released a public beta of Boot Camp, an application that allows users with a Microsoft Windows XP installation disc to install Windows XP on an Intel-based Mac®, and once installation is complete, users can restart their computer to run either Mac OS® X or Windows XP.

Some interesting points from Apple:

“Apple has no desire or plan to sell or support Windows, but many customers have expressed their interest to run Windows on Apple’s superior hardware now that we use Intel processors,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “We think Boot Camp makes the Mac even more appealing to Windows users considering making the switch.”

Word to the Wise
Windows running on a Mac is like Windows running on a PC. That means it’ll be subject to the same attacks that plague the Windows world. So be sure to keep it updated with the latest Microsoft Windows security fixes.

Widgets

I am always on my computer when I am “watching” TV. I love the TV TRACKER widget. It let’s you define the chanels you want it to show making it easy to scan what’s currently on the chanels you watch so you don’t have to waste time scrolling through UPN, QVC and ANIMAL PLANET.

LOCKER let’s you quickly lock your computer. When you double click it, it will lock your computer. You will end up at login window, just as if you had used the fast user switching menu item.
