Just watched Clean, Shaven, an amazing eerie journey that follows a paranoid schizophrenic as he tries to find his daughter after being released from an institution. The majority of the film let’s you experience the sights and sounds as the main character feels them (lots of haunting static ambient echo and voices). Very light on dialog and plot but strangely engrossing. You’ll recognize the main character, Peter Greene who’s roll right after this film was Zed in Pulp Fiction.

Fucking aye right…
Hauled this load of 70’s cinema home today (Lynch’s Dumbland is the excecption)
Holy Fuck. Finally got to see INLAND EMPIRE. Absolutely amazing. I left the theater with my mind racing, there are at least 3 stories swarming around this film about Hollywood, acting, a cursed film, patriarchy, hookers, Polish carnies and much more. Characters change and no one in the film (or watching) can grasp a sense of time
[“I suppose if it was 9:45, I would think it is after midnight.”]…
I’m late on this but Tre just reminded me about Old Joy, a movie with Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy…
Check out the trailer
Bastards Of The Party is an amazing documentary on L.A. gangs from the 1940’s until present. Covering everything from the Slausons to the rise of the Black Panthers up to the current Bloods and Crips. Thoroughly put together and amazingly told by those that were there.
Watch it on HBO ON DEMAND now!
Stumbled across an amazing site that attempts to explain 2001.
