New Mice, New iPods

The MAC nerdery has really been lacking on here as of late…

As noted in Engadget, Apple has modified its trademark filing for the iPod. The device now adds mentions to “video” related features into its description. Apple has been longly rumoured to be working on a video-enabled iPod, especially since the company started providing video clips through its music store and video playback capability to iTunes. Apple updated its trademark for the iPod from “portable and handheld digital electronic devices for recording, organizing, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing text, data, and audio files” to read “portable and handheld digital electronic devices for recording, organizing, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing text, data, audio, image, and video files.”

Mac OS X 10.4.3, which its believed to be on target for a release by mid-Sept., began making the rounds in Silicon Valley earlier this week. Sources were mum on details, saying the first pre-releases builds of the software are slated to be released to thousands of Apple developers and business partners for testing in a matter of days.

And Apple finally came out with a new mouse. I played with one last night at the Apple Store… pretty fucking slick.
